A Love Letter From The Year 1600

It is January 31, 2025.  Today, I am going to read a love letter that was written in or around the year 1600, 425 years ago.  Accompanying the letter is a newspaper article from Hull Daily Mail that was published on this day 91 years ago on January 31, 1934.

OnlyFans Girl - 100 Guys In 24 Hours. This Is A Goal???? Only Fans Shenanigan.

Today is January 25, 2025.  A bit of an old story.  OnlyFans girl Lily Phiilips set up a scene with 100 or 101 guys.  Her future plan is 1,000.  Who is going to marry Lily some day with this sort of shenanigan?  As bad as this is for her, imagine being guy number 100 or 1,000.  This is the 2020s, people.

2025 Marks The 250th Anniversary Of The Start Of The American Revolution 1775 To 1783 / 2025 To 2033

Today is January 24, 2025.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution.

This Revolutionary War anniversary will last from 2025 until 2033 ... an eight-year observance spanning nine separate years.

During this time, I will be reading from source material of the era, displaying original artifacts and spotlighting actual veterans of the conflict.

I hope that all of you will be a part of this semiquincentennial with me.

Thank you.

Courtship In 1833 ... She Did It For The Money (The New York Mirror January 19, 1833 192 Years Ago)

Good evening.  It is January 19, 2025, and, on this day, 192 years ago, this newspaper was published ... The New York Mirror: A Weekly Journal, Devoted To Literature And The Fine Arts from Saturday, January 19, 1833.  Within the pages of this publication is a poem pertaining to courtship.  Tonight, I am going to read this poem.

Given the ending of the poem, could this be MGTOW content or Black Pill content??

I acquired this newspaper, along with some others, in 2009, and I am just today beginning to go through them.  The timing was absolutely perfect.  I am going to be creating more historical content of this nature in 2025 and beyond.  Until then, I thank you for watching.  Good night.

The Toy Box Chronicles #0006 January 15, 2025

This is the sixth episode of The Toy Box Chronicles.  My largest box yet.  As mentioned previously, I was involved with toys in the twentieth century, and for the majority of the twenty-first century, I was mostly involved with very old objects (antiques, ancient artifacts, antiquities, fossils, meteorites).  For years and decades, these toy boxes were sitting around in the attic, the basement and storage units.  I am going through them now.  This particular bin was filled in the late 1990s to maybe 2000 or 2001.  What you see will be mostly mine (1970s and 1980s childhood toys and 1990s purchases from yard sales and flea markets mainly) with some objects belonging to family members.  I peaked inside of it over the years.  I never did any digging until now.  I made some errors with names (Stridor when it should have been Night Stalker, etc).  I was not wearing corrective lenses so my eyesight was lacking here.

Lucha Libre Luchadores Wrestling Action Figures The Toy Box Chronicles #0005 - Dedicated To Rob Roman January 14, 2025

The Toy Box Chronicles Episode 0005 is here.  It is actually a bag so I threw it into a box to make it official and proper.  This episode is dedicated to Rob Roman aka Meatybat aka Big Mack Smack.  Some of you know Big Mack Smack from CZW: Combat Zone Wrestling.  Meatybat likely outbid you on eBay in the late 1990s and/or early 2000s.  Big name in the action figure market and community.  In this video, I am unearthing a bag of Lucha Libre Luchador Luchadores wrestling action figures that I purchased in Mexico in February of 2007 ... seventeen years and eleven months ago.  I never opened it when I returned home and threw it into a storage unit.  It is indeed tragic that Rob passed away because he would have flipped out at seeing all of this.  I wanted to show this bag to him for years.  Sadly, I never found the time.  The biggest surprise was finding a Chichen-Itza shirt inside of the bag.  I have been looking for that shirt for years.  I had no idea that it was in that bag.  I thought that I paid 200 pesos for all of this.  The receipt shows 93 pesos although it is very light so 93 may not be accurate.  I paid somewhere between $9.30 to $20.00 for this entire bag of Lucha memorabilia.

The Moon And Mars In The Night Sky On January 13, 2025

It is January 13, 2025.  This is my first night sky post since 2019.  Prior to that, it was 2013 so I have not kept up with outer space much in the past dozen years.  This evening, the night sky features The Moon and the planet Mars.  Yes, indeed, Mars can be viewed without the aid of a telescope or a pair of binoculars.

60 Years Ago, The Amazing Spider-Man #23 Debuted On Newsstands (Third Green Goblin Appearance)

Hello.  This is Mikey Mike aka Mister Comic Book.  It is January 12, 2025.  On this day, 60 years ago, The Amazing Spider-Man issue number 23 debuted on newsstands.  January 12, 1965 was the on-sale date of this Silver Age comic book.  I purchased three copies in 1994 or 1995 via the Comics Buyers Guide through an ad by Joseph Koch.  He sold these at three for $120.  He must have had a stack of them because he ran that same ad for some time.  These must have been from a newsstand overstock.  I could not stop at just three; I purchased two more in 2017 and/or 2018.  The issue features the third appearance of The Green Goblin.

"American Fantasie" By The New York Military Band Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph Record 1916

Hello everyone.  This is my first Thomas Edison Diamond Disc content in a decade!  My last Diamond Disc video and blog entry were posted in May of 2015.  Incredible how quickly ten years can fly by.  This is "American Fantasie" by The New York Military Band.  The track is a patriotic medley featuring "Hail Columbia", "Swanee River", "Dixie", "Columbia, The Gem Of The Ocean" and "The Star-Spangled Banner".  It dates back 109 years into the past.  The song was recorded on April 18 and/or 20 and/or 21, 1916 (data varies), and the record was released on June 08, 1916 and again in October of that year (Catalog number: 50358 and Matrix number: 4671-C-6-17).  I am going to play the record on an Edison Disc Phonograph Model C-150 that was manufactured some time between 1915 and 1919.

Many more mechanical recordings are on deck for the very near future.

My first photograph with a Diamond Disc record in close to a full decade:

A Twelfth Night Celebration At Hancock House In Hancock's Bridge, New Jersey On January 04, 2025

A Colonial "Twelfth Night" celebration took place at Hancock House in Hancock's Bridge, NJ yesterday.  Twelfth Night was part of the Twelve Days Of Christmas.  It was celebrated from the Roman Era to just before the American Civil War.  It fell out of favor in the middle of the 1800s. Last evening, it was brought back.  The particular theme of this Twelfth Night was "1775 On The Eve Of War" in reference to the American Revolutionary War.

A fiddler asked if anyone had any requests.  I responded, "'To Anacreon In Heaven' unless you are planning to use it as your encore.".  He replied that this was a great choice because it can be a learning moment.  He explained how the song eventually became "The Star-Spangled Banner" in 1814.  I mentioned that the instrumental was also used for a John Adams song in the late 1790s.  A minuet instruction followed.

Here are photographs of the event ...
