Civil War Reenactment At Peddler's Village In Lahaska, PA On April 14, 2013

Peddler's Village in Lahaska, Pennsylvania hosted a Civil War Reenactment on April 14, 2013. It was the final stop of my History Marathon/History Workout that day (the World War II Encampment in Media, PA was the first, and the 1763 Peace Of Paris Commemoration in Trenton, NJ was the second). When I first heard about this event, I thought that Peddler's Village was a historic site. It is actually a shopping village with a large field. I grabbed a pretzel after the event so it paid for the town to hold the reenactment and encampment.

250th Anniversary Commemoration Of The Treaty Of Paris Signaling The End Of The Anglo-French War In Trenton, NJ On April 14, 2013

On April 14, 2013, The Old Barracks in Trenton, NJ hosted a Commemoration of the Treaty Of Paris of 1763 which ended the Anglo-French War as part of the Seven Years War [also known as the French And Indian War (which I prefer not to use)]. The Old Barracks itself was built during and was used during this particular War (specifically in 1758). It was stop number two of my History Marathon/History Workout that day.

I was glad to see the Old Barracks host an event for such an overlooked conflict. I had to attend. Here are some photographs and a video of the day ...

World War II Encampment At The Colonial Plantation On April 14, 2013

As I stated in my previous blog entry, I went to three different events on Sunday, April 14, 2013. This began my History Workout/History Marathon. I went to the World War II event in Media, Pennsylvania specifically at the Colonial Plantation in Ridley Park. There were two tents, a small display outside and a few displays inside.

A living historian noticed that I was wearing a 150th Civil War hat, and he showed a knife to me. It was made from a Civil War sword during the World War II era so there are two historic aspects to the knife. It is pictured on the left:
