Mikey Mike with another comic book. 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Daredevil #1 debuting on newsstands. Last night was the 60th year and tenth month anniversary to be exact. The comic book's on-sale date was February 04, 1964. It features the introduction, first appearance and origin of Daredevil. I acquired this copy in 1994 from Comics Buyers Guide (an absolutely incredible resource). I believe that the seller was Terry's Comics. It cost around $90. If you think that is cheap, inside of the book is a price in pen with $4.50. That is what the book sold for in the early days of comic book fandom.

Here I am in my room reading the Daredevil #1. Aside from the comic, you can see the E.T. bed set from my childhood in the 1980s (crazy clean - perhaps I did not use them much?). That is my original bed frame from 1979 (and it belonged to a sibling in the 1960s). The mattresses are from 1989 and still strong. The cradle that I was placed inside of in 1974 is present (also, my brother used it in 1969) and filled with my stuffed animals from the 1970s and later. The two plush Ewoks I found deep in a spiral bin at KB Toys inside of Cherry Hill Mall in 1994. Oddball Star Wars was still in stores in the 1990s. I was a major mole in that era digging everywhere. In addition, the cradle houses my first pair of shoes (now bronzed) and a lock from my first hair cut in 1975 (it was a tradition for certain cultures to save hair in those days). There are rows of MOC Star Wars candles and erasers. 21 cases of Return Of The Jedi buttons are stacked. 21 X 144 = over 3,000 buttons there. Nearby are twelve boxed Twin Pod Cloud Cars. I threw the box out for the one that I got in the early 1980s. My second boxed one was purchased through Toy Shop Magazine (another absolutely incredible resource) in or around 1993. I bought eleven more boxed Cloud Cars in subsequent years as well as loose ones stacked elsewhere. One third of a 1980s Masters Of The Universe store display can be seen. In the background, in my other room, is part of my Sectaurs section. Glo Worm toys are on top of The Hyve. Below those are knock-off wrestlers and AWA Remco wrestlers below that shelf. Those old books date from the 1500s to the 1700s. There might be a couple 1800s there. The porcelain is from the late 1800s, and it holds gum wrappers from 1916 (suitable World War One crossover artifacts). Behind them is an Egyptian papyrus fragment from the year 500 or sooner. I just put up those Kenner M.A.S.K. MOCs. Finally, I have pinball and skee ball games. Do you wanna play???
