Visiting The Lexington Battle Green For The 250th Anniversary Of The Start Of The Revolutionary War

April 19, 2025 was the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution.  The first shot igniting the Revolutionary War was fired in Lexington, Massachusetts on April 19, 1775.  I attended the commemoration of the event at the Lexington Battle Green aka Lexington Common in Massachusetts, the exact location of that first shot, two days ago. The observance was a big success.  A large crowd attended.  Being from New Jersey, I wondered if I was going to be the only person from outside of Massachusetts.  I spoke with a couple of people from Louisiana.  I had a great conversation with the two of them.  Someone else there claimed that he was at the Lexington commemoration fifty years ago for the 200th anniversary which is incredible.  The commute to was five hours.  I stayed for three hours.  The commute from was six hours.  The drive home was an hour longer because I took Route 95 South.  Longer yet easier because it was one highway instead of taking several.  I use pieces of paper for directions.  I am from the old days.

Train Show In Magnolia, NJ On April 12, 2025

The Magnolia Train Show hosted by the Strasburg Model Railroad Club Of New Jersey took place at the Donald E. Wilson Community Center yesterday, April 12, 2025.  The parking lot was packed.  It was a very successful event.  This blog entry shows some of the operating track layouts and my purchases at the event.
